Introduction

Hello Everyone! My name is Karla Crouch and I am thrilled to introduce myself to this group and course!

  • Place of Residence: Edmonds, WA, where I share my life with my husband and two daughters, aged 5 and 9.

  • Schooling: Proud alumnus of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, San Marcos, holding a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT). My academic journey also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theater from California State University.

  • Professional Work Experience: I've spent years immersed in the world of musical theater, performing professionally. Currently, I'm continuing my academic journey with USAHS, pursuing a Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (PPOTD). Simultaneously, I manage a Wellness Center in Edmonds, offering a range of holistic services. Additionally, I work as a per diem OT for an Assisted Living Facility, providing onsite OT/PT services.

  • Favorite City or Site: London holds a special place in my heart. During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to study abroad and explore the enchanting West End theaters, captivating art museums, and charming cobblestone roads.

  • Positive Characteristic: Optimism is a guiding light in my life. Instilled in me by my mother, it allows me to view challenges with a "glass half full" perspective. This positive outlook keeps me grounded, hopeful, and enables me to uplift those around me.

  • Expectations from the Course: I am excited about delving deeper into the realm of women's health through this course. My expectations include personal growth, the application of newfound knowledge in my professional endeavors, and contributing to the field of occupational therapy, especially in women's health.

  4. Hi Karla, I am so envious that you were able to study in London. That must have been amazing. I have a close friend whose son is a senior and applying to Musical Theater programs. We have seen so many musicals because of his involvement.
Women's health has such a big holistic component I am sure your experience will help educate the rest of us and that we'll all learn more through our assignments and interactions.
